If my grants pay for tuition and theres some left can I still get a stafford loan to buy a laptop computer?

The reason I am asking is I take cles online and need to have word 2007 and need to be able to have access to the internet and a computer even when I travel. Would I be able to use my financial aid grants towards tuition and books with some money still leftover? Can I still take out a subsidized stafford loan to help me purchase a laptop computer for my online cles even if I have some grant money left? (What is leftover from the grants after books and tuition will still not be enough to buy a laptop computer.)
