Is the painful lump in armpit most likely to be cancer?

What is the chances of a lump in the armpit being or lymph. cancer? I've had it for years, but the last couple of days it's been painful and has grown a little. My mother had a mastectomy while pregnant with me. I had uteran cancer and a full hysterectomy 8/07
