Adobe Reader won't display or print pdf files?

These are specifically files located and accessed from website like bank statements or newsletters stored on organization websites. This began abruptly when using v9, I installed v 10 and it still occurs. If a pdf file is already on my computer it will read and print fine. Otherwise I get a black screen, or sometimes a plain white screen and it says "done"
