What powers could a book have?

Books have the 'power' to send you into a different world. To grab your readers attention, use sharp details, and imagery. Give the characters a personality, and a habit. The plot is important; it must be very entertaining, but yet not to confusing that the reader gives up on the book. A book is never really dangerous, but it can be very powerful in the way it affects the reader. The actual book is composed of the characters, the plot and the scene. As long as you do well with that ,the book should turn out very well.
