Kidde carbon monoxide alarm won't stop beeping and i have taken it to fresh air?

i was cooking and my alarm started going off. noticed it had gotten wet on the bottom, took it and went outside---sat outside with it for a while and it still kept going off. i removed the batteries, reset it, even drove around with it. still going off---does anyone have any experience with this?
