Is "vt canis majoris" visible from earth?

I am uming you mean "VY" not "VT". Unfortunately, VY Canis Majoris is around 8.2 magnitude, which is too dim to be visible to the naked eye, however it can be seen with a reasonable telescope or binoculars from Earth.
